Stargaze for a few hours.

The clearer the sky, the better the view of the stars at night. Set up a blanket in the yard, get some snacks ready, and relax as you point out constellations with family and friends. Don’t forget the bug spray, or make these easy DIY bug repelling torches.

Watch movies outdoors.

Why have a movie night indoors when you can set up a screen outside in the backyard for a summer night to remember? Attach a sheet to a low-hanging tree branch, set up a projector, and pop in your favorite feel-good flick.

Go camping in your backyard.

Camping doesn’t always have to entail a weeklong adventure in the woods. Set up camp in your own backyard, complete with a tent, s’mores, flashlights, and sleeping bags. Make sure to leave technology inside so you get the full camping experience!

Go back to yesteryear.

Remember flashlight tag, catching fireflies, Frisbee, and water balloon fights? Whether kids are present or not, bring back these old school activities for a night of carefree fun. Bond with neighbors and make the most of the good weather.

Have a nighttime picnic.

Picnics are typically a daytime activity, but consider venturing out of the air conditioning and take your dinner outside. Set up blankets in the yard, make homemade fruit punch to share, pasta salad, and mini dessert tacos for a dinner to savor.
